Treatment of Panic Disorder
We can learn a good way to deal with panic disorders from martial arts. The ancient Chinese marital art Aikido uses an approach that can be an effective treatment of panic disorder. If you know what the Aikido martial art is, you probably have an idea already on how to deal with it.
There is an approach to the martial art that we can learn into. It can be a very potent treatment of panic disorder. Every time the Aikido martial artist faces an opponent or an attacker, students are strictly taught to never engage first. They are made to believe that the greatest defense that they can ever come up with is to never engage the enemy. They are taught to evade the enemy, or even to walk away from them.
But the key is to observe and learn something from them. Should the enemy catches you and strikes a blow you; blocks were administered to counter the attacks. The blocks applied are designed in a way that in goes with the physical flow of the attack, thus enabling the enemy to exaggerate his attack leaving him vulnerable for the fatal counter attack.
Panic disorders must be dealt in the same way as we deal with the enemy the Aikido way. Since panic attacks can come almost unexpectedly, one effective treatment of panic disorder is to deal with it passively, accepting the flow of the attack yet channeling it to a point that soon it will appear powerless and harmless. There will always be a struggle and it might go on for long.
But as long as you play it smart and deal with it like Aikido martial arts, then soon the anxiety and panic will go away. Now please do take note that accepting the anxiety and observing more about them isn’t going to solve the issue. In order for it to be a good treatment of panic disorder, you will need to also act! This is similar to the attack once you have put the enemy to the ground. You will need to give the blow to the anxiety by taking action. You will need to move in order for you to eliminate panic disorders permanently.
